The backing is a beige linen blend with a vertical strip of the shell fabric used in the front of the quilt.
The quilt design is by Jacqueline de Jong and called Curling Colours.
The quilting is full custom, and was entered into several shows. It won a teachers award in Manchester, NH. It has been hanging in my studio for a while now, and it is time for it to move on to another home where it will be loved and admired.
There are a lot of crystals on this quilt, they are applied individually with a heating tool, and glued on. They have lasted this long without falling off, so there should be no problems.
I would not advise this quilt to be washed, vacuumed very carefully with a piece of stocking over the end of the suction head so as to catch any crystals if they are sucked off.
It has a rod pocket already on the back, ready for hanging.
